The Clinical Efficacy og Sulperazon in the Treatment of Infection in the Department of Neurosurgery

Abstract
|
|
|
The clinical efficacy of Sulperazon in the treatment of neurosurgical infections was evaluated in 12 patients who were treated in the Department of Neurosurgery, Chung-Ang University Hospital from March 1988 to June 1989.
The Results were as follows:
1. Among 12 cases, there were 5 cases of meningitis, 3 cases of brain abscess, 2 cases of ventriculitis, 1 case of postoperative wound infection and 1 case of pneumonia. 2. The clinical effect: Cure in 2 cases, Improvement in 9 cases, and Failure in 1 case.
3. The bacteriological effect: Eradication- in 10 cases, and Eradication / Superinfection in 2 cases.
4. The overall rate of clinical effectiveness was 91%.
5. There was no specific side effect.
